On August 15, 2019, India completed 72 years of freedom since gaining Independence on August 15, 1947.

In this time period, India became the only team to have won a T20 World Cup, a Champion Trophy win, and a 50 overs World Cup.

India would now be facing West Indies to begin their World Test Championship, which would run till June, 2021.
