In what looked like a mere formality, Ravi Shastri has been reappointed as the coach of the Indian Cricket Team till the end of the 2021 T20 World Cup.
A total of 6 candidates were shortlisted after the initial screening. This includes the likes of Ravi Shastri, Mike Hesson, Tom Moody, Phil Simmons, Lalchand Rajput and Robin Singh.

Basis the marking system, Ravi Shastri came first, while Mike Hesson and Tom Moody came second and third respectively.
During the tenure for the next two years, Team India would be playing two T20 World Cups, Away Test series in Australia and England, and a World Test Championship final, if India qualify for it.
While the selection of Ravi Shastri felt obvious, it has garnered rage among the Indian fans. Many fans expressed their disappointment on Twitter over the appointment of Ravi Shastri as the Coach of Team India.

I don't mind if #RaviShastri continues to be the coach of the team as long as Kohli is happy. Because that's the most important thing. I don't mind even if Kohli wants Rakhi Sawant to be India's next coach. Whatever works for him, works for me.

While Ravi Shastri’s reappointment may have disappointed many Indian fans, we just hope, the duo of Kohli and Shastri help India win their first ICC Trophy since 2013.
