ODI World Cup 2027 Full Exclusive Schedule Fixtures Download

With the blockbuster India vs Pakistan match on Oct 10, download the complete final schedule for the ODI World Cup 2027.

The blockbuster tournament of the year, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, has officially got its schedule, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) announcing the complete fixtures for the tournament. The ODI World Cup 2027 will kick off on October 2 with the Super Series in Windhoek, Namibia, while the main Group Stage will begin on October 7 with India taking on Australia in Cape Town.

The tournament will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, with 14 teams competing across 12 venues. The 2027 edition will also introduce a new three-stage format before the semi-finals and final, making it one of the most interesting editions of the ODI World Cup yet.

India will begin their World Cup campaign against defending champions Australia on October 7, followed by the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash on October 10 in Johannesburg. India will play all five of their Group Stage matches, including the Pakistan clash, across South Africa and Zimbabwe. So, here’s a closer look at all the groups.

ODI World Cup 2027 Groups

The 12 teams entering the main Group Stage have been divided into two groups of six.

Group A: India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and Qualifier A.

Group B: New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh, and Qualifier B.

Interestingly, Group A immediately grabs attention with India, Australia, and Pakistan all placed together. The India vs Australia match on October 7 will open the Group Stage, while the iconic India vs Pakistan rivalry will take place on October 10 in Johannesburg. Group B also brings together some of the biggest names in ODI cricket, with New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and England all competing for the top three spots. The remaining two teams, Qualifier A and Qualifier B, will be determined through the qualification process ahead of the tournament.

ODI World Cup 2027 Format and Super 7 Seeding

The ODI World Cup 2027 will follow a completely new format compared to the previous 10-team editions. The tournament will feature 14 teams and 57 matches across three stages before the knockouts. The tournament will first begin with a three-team Super Series, featuring the three lowest-ranked qualified teams. Each team will play the other two teams once, with the team finishing at the top of the Super Series moving into the Group Stage.

After that, 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six. Each team will play every other team in their group once, giving each team five Group Stage matches. The top three teams from each group will move forward to the Super 7 stage, along with the better fourth-placed team across the two groups.

The Super 7 stage will feature seven teams playing a complete round-robin tournament. Each team will play six matches, with the top four teams progressing to the semi-finals. The team finishing first in the Super 7 will face the fourth-placed team in the first semi-final, while the second-placed team will face the third-placed team in the second semi-final. The winners of the two semi-finals will then meet in the much-anticipated ODI World Cup 2027 Final.

ODI World Cup 2027 Super 7 Pre-Seeding

The Super 7 stage uses a pre-assigned seeding system to decide how teams are placed after the Group Stage. This means the schedule can be fixed in advance even though the actual teams qualifying for the Super 7 will only be known after the Group Stage.

Super 7 Pre-Seed Teams  Teams
A1 India
A2 Australia
A3 Pakistan
AB4 England
B1 New Zealand
B2 South Africa
B3 Sri Lanka

Even if a different team qualifies for the Super 7, it will take the pre-assigned position of the team it replaces. For example, if Sri Lanka does not qualify for the Super 7 but Bangladesh does, Bangladesh would take the B3 position and play the fixtures assigned to B3. This pre-seeding system helps keep the Super 7 schedule predictable while still allowing the Group Stage qualification process to determine which teams actually progress.
