Playing 11 for Both Teams:
Team India’s playing 11 could be an interesting selection choice between a few players. The top 7 in the batting order seems an automatic selection for India. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul shall open. While Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, and Axar Patel comprise the rest of the batting line-up.
The main selection dilemma would be the selection of the third pacer and primary spinner. For the spinner, India could go with Ravichandran Ashwin ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal. Pakistan’s batting has a few left-handers in the middle-order, and that should prompt Rohit to go with Ashwin. In addition, Ravichandran Ashwin is bowling beautifully, so that is a plus point for him.
Talking about three pacers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami seem to be sure shot contenders for the pace attack. This leaves us with two options, Harshal Patel vs Arshdeep Singh for the third pacer choice. This is a very difficult choice to make as both are powerful options for death overs.
Ideally, both should play. But since India are likely to include Mohammed Shami for his experience and pace, India could leave out the inexperience of Arshdeep Singh. Leaving Arshdeep would be a harsh call as he is the only left-arm pacer. But Harshal’s variations could be an asset in death overs and middle overs.

Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Dinesh Karthik (WK), Harshal Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar & Mohammed Shami
For Pakistan, the main headache would be the selection of number 3. They have three options in the form of Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, and Shah Masood. Of the three, Pakistan are likely to go with the experience of Fakhar Zaman. Apart from this, Pakistan shall select Mohammad Wasim as the fourth pacer of the squad.
