Match Details:

Match 22 SRH vs KXIP
Location Dubai
Date & Time Thursday, Oct 8 || 7:30 pm IST

IPL 2020 – SRH vs KXIP Match Playing 11:

It’s the clash of the bottom half teams as Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the bottom-most ranked team, Kings XI Punjab. While Sunrisers have won two games out of four, Kings XI Punjab have won just one out of five. Both would be desperate to win as a loss here should only make their qualification scenario difficult.

Kings XI Punjab may be ranked 8th in the points table, but haven’t been bad in terms of performance. Two of the top three highest run-scorers are KXIP guys, whereas, Cottrell and Shami have been among wickets. However, it’s the few baffling decisions that have cost KXIP three matches.

Sunrisers would be devastated by the loss of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has been the leader of pace attack. However, the kind of pace options they have, it shouldn’t bother them much if they perform well. Meanwhile, they definitely need to sort their batting-order as they are leaving the finishing duties to inexperienced players, which isn’t good.

IPL 2020 KXIP Probable 11 vs SRH:

KL Rahul (C&WK), Chris Gayle /  Glenn Maxwell, Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh, Nicholas Pooran, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Shami, Sheldon Cottrell, Ishan Porel, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

IPL 2020 SRH Probable 11 vs KXIP:

David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Khaleel Ahmed / Siddharth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma, and T Natarajan.

SRH vs KXIP Top Player Prediction:

David Warner:

David Warner has had an IPL which has been way below his standards so far. That’s not the David Warner we know who has owned the orange cap in his last two appearances in 2017 and 2019, and finished with over 800 runs in 2016. It is because of his lack of form, his team has been unable to do well in the batting arena with below-par scores. He has to do well, and tomorrow could be that night.

Mayank Agarwal:

Mayank Agarwal has had starts in almost all the matches so far. He has scored around 270 runs in 5 matches, and he has done that with a strike-rate of over 160. With just 2 big scores, Mayank needs to get back in the groove to score big. More than him, his team needs him to do well, and get a big one.

Nicholas Pooran:

Nicholas Pooran has looked dangerous in this IPL with quick cameos coming at a super pace. While he hasn’t troubled the scorers much, that big knock from him is just around the corner. The Dubai pitch has been a high-scoring one so far, and Pooran would realize that to get a big one.

Rashid Khan:

Rashid Khan has been the best spinner so far in the Tournament. He has bowled with aggression, and that has resulted in him taking 5 wickets in 5 matches with a superb economy rate of 5.2; third-best of the competition. He would be the leader of SRH bowling attack in the absence of Bhuvi, and thus SRH would expect more responsibility from him.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman / Mohammed Shami:

KXIP have struggled to take wickets in the middle-overs, and that has been the main reason for games drifting away from KXIP most of the times. With Jordan out of form, and KXIP middle-over woes, it is all but certain that Mujeeb should get a game tomorrow. Well, if he doesn’t, and KXIP have a brain face, then Shami should be your selection.

T Natarajan:

T Natarajan has been excellent in the death overs so far with the proper mix of slower ones and yorkers. He also has 5 wickets to his name, but these have come in difficult situations. He is a potential selection for you to get good points against a marginally thin batting-order that of KXIP.

Captain & Vice-Captain Pick: David Warner and Nicholas Pooran
