IPL 2021 RR vs PBKS: Rajasthan Royals take on Punjab Kings in match 4 as we look at the predicted playing 11 and top fantasy players picks.

Three matches in a row, and we have seen the heavyweights being defeated in a rather surprising turn of events. The first match saw Mumbai Indians being ended on the losing side. Then it was Chennai Super Kings, and finally it was Sunrisers Hyderabad. Having said that, we are now on to the 4th match, and it is going to be a clash of teams trying to revamp their fortunes. 

The clash of the two emerging wicket-keeper batsman in India is going to witness a run feast in Mumbai. Not for the first time, these two teams met each other in a high-scoring content. Who can forget that epic knock from Rahul Tewatia when his 5 consecutive sixes sealed a high-scoring contest in Sharjah in IPL 2020.

Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) would be beginning their 2021 campaign under a new brand name. They have retained most of their core, and also bought in a few big-ticket guys to boost their bowling. How they accommodate them would still be the question considering overseas limitations. In any which case, Punjab Kings have a fantastic squad in place. 

Rajasthan Royals would be beginning their 2021 journey under a new captain with the hope to revive their fortunes. How much luck and fortune will Sanju Samson bring to the table is yet to be seen, but we can definitely expect fireworks in the batting if Sanju Samson can dorn the responsibility hat.

It might seem a pattern, but most of the teams this time around don’t have a settled opening combination. Rajasthan Royals is no exception as it is not sure yet who is going to open for them in IPL 2021. It could be the dynamic duo of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes, or it could be the Captain, Sanju Samson alongside Ben Stokes, or it could be the fire and ice combination of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. 

By the looks of it, and based on last year’s stats, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler seems an easy bet with Sanju Samson at 3. This combination should work only if they have the stability of David Miller in the middle-order. If Miller doesn’t play then Ben Stokes should play at 4 with Yashasvi Jaiswal opening the innings alongside Jos Buttler. 

Riyan Parag should also play an important role in the middle-order. Whereas Chris Morris, Shivam Dube, and Rahul Tewatia should complete the rest of the batting line-up. If Miller doesn’t play then Mustafizur Rahman should get a game. If not then Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi, and Shreyas Gopal should complete the rest of the bowling.

IPL 2021 RR vs PBKS: Predicted Playing XI for Punjab Kings:

Punjab Kings are one of the only few teams to have a settled opening combination and top-order. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal would be their opening duo followed by Chris Gayle at 3. Now, if PBKS play Dawid Malan at 4, KL Rahul can play freely at the top as Malan brings stability. If he doesn’t then Nicholas Pooran should play at 4 followed by Mandeep Singh and Shahrukh Khan. 

Chris Jordan should mostly play as the bowling all-rounder of the team at 7. Jhye Richardson, Mohammed Shami, and Arshdeep Singh should complete the rest of the pace attack. Ravi Bishnoi should be the leading spinner of the squad. In case PBKS need an extra spinner, Murugan Ashwin can play for Arshdeep Singh.
