IPL 2024: Official Full Schedule for Phase 1 – Download Now

CSK vs RCB to kick-start the tournament as we look at the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2024 full schedule download.

It’s here!!! The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday, Feb 22 has officially announced the schedule for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2024. However, the schedule is announced with a twist as the fixtures are out for only the first two weeks. The reason for BCCI to announce the schedule for two weeks is the non-confirmation of the Lok Sabha Selections that will be held at the same time.

Nevertheless, for the cricket fans, the IPL 2024 with kick-start with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai on March 22. With the schedule being released only for the first two weeks, a total of 21 matches will be played during this period. Phase 1 of IPL 2024 as we call it will witness a total of 4 double-headers with one being on Saturday, and three being on Sunday.

IPL 2024 Time and Location

In terms of timing, except for the first match, which will start at 8 PM due to the opening ceremony, all evening matches will kick-off at 7:30 pm and afternoon matches will kick-off at 3:30 pm IST.  In terms of locations, the first 21 matches will be played in Chennai, Mohali, Mumbai, Vizag, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Hyderabad. Of the locations, Mohali, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai will host the afternoon matches for the first 21 matches.  

It is interesting to note that, similar to last year, teams will be divided into two groups of 5 teams each. Each team will play a total of 14 matches as planned. However, due to partial schedule release, the groups are not known as yet. But with the updated schedule that will be released, we will get to know all groups and pending fixtures. 

To recap what has happened from last year till now, the 2023 IPL was won by CSK after defeating Gujarat Titans, who played back-to-back finals. Post that, Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in the history of IPL at 24.75 Cr. In a surprising move, Hardik Pandya was traded to MI, and Cameron Green was traded to RCB. MS Dhoni has made himself be available for the whole IPL and Rishabh Pant will purely play as a batter.
