West Indies vs India 2019: BCCI Announces ODI and T20I Squad

West Indies vs India 2019: MS Dhoni excludes himself from the ODI and T20I series as key players get dropped from the squad.

BCCI has officially announced the squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against West Indies. Both the teams would be playing a total of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against West Indies starting 6th December, 2019.

MS Dhoni has once again excluded himself from the ODI as well as the T20I series, thus keeping his fans guessing about his retirement. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is back in the T20I squad, and he will take over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma.

Two changes in the ODI squad:

The ODI squad has seen only two changes with Shivam Dube and Deepak Chahar being included in the ODI squad for Khaleel Ahmed and Navdeep Saini. Meanwhile, Kedar Jadhav is retained as the all-rounder, and the rest of the squad remains the same

T20I squad sees many changes:

However, in a surprise move, the shortest format has seen as many as 5 changes in the squad, thus questioning the strategy behind Team India’s think tank of not giving a consistent run to the players.

Sanju Samson, Shardul Thakur, and Rahul Chahar have been dropped from the squad without getting even a single game against Bangladesh. Khaleel Ahmed too has been dropped from the squad owing to his poor show against Bangladesh.

Surprisingly, Krunal Pandya is dropped from the squad for Ravindra Jadeja, who was dropped for the T20I series against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have made a comeback in the T20I squad

Here are the official squads for both, the ODI and T20I series for the West Indies tour.
