The D-day is here, as all 10 teams have finally announced their retained and released players list ahead of the IPL 2026 Mini Auction. The Pre-Auction drama was centred around two things primarily. For the first time in IPL history, teams traded as many as 10 players ahead of the Auction – this is a record high for any season. Secondly, teams left their emotions and loyalty aside, and focused only on retaining those players who were to add value for the coming few years.
So, the Pre-Auction drama saw some of the most interesting trades like Sanju Samson to CSK, Ravindra Jadeja to RR, Mohammed Shami to LSG, Shardul Thakur to MI, and many more. Whereas on the released players’ front, teams released many big names like Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer from KKR, Liam Livingstone from RCB, Glenn Maxwell from PBKS, and many more. The teams even released those players who had been loyal to them for so many years.
