MI Released Players IPL 2027: 5 Shocking Names in Predicted List
With Hardik Pandya, the biggest name, discover the MI Released Players IPL 2027 and Mumbai Indians best predicted list.
Ever since the trading window opened for IPL 2027, if there is one name that has made the biggest buzz so far, it is Hardik Pandya. It has been reported by multiple sources that Hardik Pandya has requested a release from Mumbai Indians – a franchise where he started his IPL career, and then returned as Captain since 2024 after winning the tournament with Gujarat Titans in 2022 and playing another final in 2023.
But after three unsuccessful years with the Mumbai Indians, it seems neither the franchise is happy with Hardik Pandya, nor Hardik Pandya is happy with the franchise. So, with Hardik Pandya reportedly looking to move out, a lot of franchises are already looking for either a cash trade or a like-for-like swap. A lot of franchises have shown interest in Hardik Pandya; this includes Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Rajasthan Royals.
All these franchises are currently suffering from Captaincy issues, and with Hardik Pandya solving that bigger headache, they have shown interest in Hardik Pandya’s trade. CSK, for example, have offered Shivam Dube and Dewald Brevis for Hardik Pandya. But it seems that trade isn’t going through. Similarly, Rajasthan Royals seem to have offered Yashasvi Jaiswal, but that trade also isn’t going through.
IPL 2027 Released Players List for Mumbai Indians (MI) Explained
Whatever the case, Hardik Pandya is moving out of Mumbai Indians, and along with him, there are a few more prominent players who will be released by Mumbai Indians. So, let’s review each player who is expected to be released, and the reasons behind their release. There could a possibility of Suryakumar Yadav too moving out, but that looks unlikely for now.
1. Danish Melawar
Danish Melawar could be released after failing to establish himself as a regular part of Mumbai Indians’ plans. With limited opportunities and little impact when given a chance, MI could look for a more reliable domestic batting option.
2. Quinton de Kock
With an overseas slot carrying significant value, Quinton de Kock could be another player MI consider moving on from. Ryan Rickelton has more or less established himself as a regular opener in the MI squad, so there is no reason why Quinton de Kock will be MI’s plan for IPL 2027 and beyond.
3. Trent Boult
Trent Boult’s experience remains valuable, but his age and reduced effectiveness in the powerplay could work against him. MI could decide that releasing Boult, and investing in a younger overseas or domestic pace option is the better long-term strategy.
4. Hardik Pandya: Set to be Released by MI for IPL 2027?
Hardik Pandya would be the biggest shock name on this predicted list, but his inconsistent IPL 2026 campaign, and the questions surrounding MI’s leadership could force the franchise to consider a major change. A release or trade involving Hardik would completely reshape Mumbai Indians‘ squad strategy for IPL 2027.
5. Mayank Markande
Mayank Markande has struggled to cement himself as a regular member of the playing XI, making his place in the IPL 2027 squad uncertain. MI could look for a more consistent spin option if they decide to refresh their bowling attack.
6. Mayank Rawat
Despite receiving opportunities, Mayank Rawat has not been able to establish himself as a dependable part of the MI squad. Releasing him could allow Mumbai to create space for a domestic batter with a clearer role in their middle-order plans.
7. Keshav Maharaj
Keshav Maharaj could be another casualty of the overseas-slot equation, particularly if his overall impact remains limited. With MI needing to maximise every overseas position, the franchise could prefer a specialist who offers greater impact with either bat or ball.

The Mumbai Indians team could be heading towards a significant squad overhaul ahead of IPL 2027, with Hardik Pandya’s uncertain future making the situation even more intriguing. While the final release and trade decisions are yet to be confirmed, the likes of Quinton de Kock, Trent Boult, Mayank Markande and Keshav Maharaj could also be vulnerable as MI look to create room for a more balanced squad. If Hardik does eventually move on, it would mark a major change in Mumbai’s leadership and squad-building strategy.
