Dosto, IPL 2024 ab tournament ke halfway stage pe aa gayi hain, aur ye hum keh sakte hain ki Indian Premier League ka ye season IPL history ka sabse best season raha hain. Is season me itne records tute hain jiski koi limit nahin hain. Toh Chahe wo highest team score ka record ho, ya maximum sixes ka record ho ek match ya half season me, ya koi aur.

Agar hum points table ki baat kare to Rajasthan Royals ek number pe hain with 6 wins from 7 games. RR ka NRR kaafi acha hain at +0.677. Rajasthan Royals ke baad aate hain Kolkata Knight Riders jinke pass hain 5 wins from 7 games at a NRR of 1.206. KKR ks NRR sabse best hain, and agar aage issue aata bhi hain to KKR ka NRR kaafi kaam aaega. Teen number pe hain SRH jinke pass hain 5 wins from 7 games at a NRR of 0.914.

But halfway stage pe kis players ne ab tak sabse jyada impress kiya hain? Well, mid-season ki sabse best players ki playing 11 janne ke liye hum dekhenge har players ki performance rating ko. Overall, the best players playing 11 at the halfway stage of IPL 2024 is selected basis of the performance rating. Also, the team combination of a maximum of 4 overseas, 2 openers, 3-4 middle-order players, 1-2 all-rounders, 2-3 pacers, and a minimum of 1 spinner is given precedence in the squad.

Stats Wizard Methodology:

Batting: As always, we have analyzed the batting performances basis the batting rating calculated from the overall aspect of the game such as runs scored, consistency, the number of match-winning & good knocks, acceleration bonus, and power-hitting bonus.

Bowling: We have analyzed the bowling performances basis the bowling rating calculated from the overall aspect of the game such as wickets taken, consistency, the number of match-winning and good spells, number of maidens bowled, and economy rate bonus.

Openers – Sunil Narine & Travis Head

Halfway stage into the tournament, and one would not find a better opening combination than Sunil Narine and Travis Head. Both have taken the bowling attack heads on, and have often come out as winners. While Head has 324 runs to his name from 6 innings at a strike rate of 216, Sunil Narine isn’t far behind with 286 runs at a strike rate of 176.

After missing out in the first match, Travis Head has been a breath of fresh air for Sunrisers Hyderabad. His attacking instincts have made sure SRH gets explosive starts, and they pose big totals. Similarly, Sunil Narine has revived his batting under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir. Narine’s additional capability as a bowler makes him the MVP so far this season.

Middle-order – Virat Kohli, Riyan Parag & Shivam Dube

Coming to the middle-order, Virat Kohli at 3 may seem a little out of position given his contribution as an opener, but with such strong openers already there, Virat Kohli’s performance simply cannot be ignored. He is the Orange cap holder currently with 379 runs to his name from just 8 innings, and even if he bats at 3, his impact may not differ much.

If there is one uncapped player who has impressed the most this season, it is Riyan Parag from Rajasthan Royals. Year-on-year, Riyan Parag has shown exceptional performance in all forms of Domestic cricket. But that performance replication was missing at the IPL stage. But with Riyan finally getting an opportunity at 4, he has finally silenced all his critics with consistent performances in almost all the matches so far.

Number 5 shall belong to the universal floater and impact player, Shivam Dube. Dube continued from where he left last year, and that is mauling the bowlers in the middle phase of the match. Time and again he has shown how dangerous he can be in the middle phase of the matches, and his dominance against spinner has been a standout. Overall, Dube has scored 245 runs from 7 innings so far with a strike rate of 157.

Finishers – Heinrich Klaasen & Dinesh Karthik

Coming to the finishers, look no beyond Heinrich Klaasen and Dinesh Karthik. Both have been the best m finishers for their team, and have contributed runs at an amazing strike rate. While Klaasen has 268 runs at a strike rate of 198, DK isn’t far behind with 251 runs at a strike rate of 196. It has been an amazing season for both finishers, but Klaasen’s runs have mostly come in winning cause.

Spinners – Kuldeep Yadav & Yuzvendra Chahal

Talking about the best spinners so far in IPL 2024, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been excellent so far for their franchise. While Yuzvendra Chahal has 12 wickets from 7 innings at an economy rate of 8.3, Kuldeep Yadav played less, but has been equally effective with 10 wickets from 5 games at an economy rate of 7.6.

Pacers – Jasprit Bumrah, Matheesha Pathirana & T Natarajan

Talking about the three best pacers in IPL 2024 at the halfway stage, Jasprit Bumrah is the first name that comes by default. No matter how batting-friendly the wickets have been, Jasprit Bumrah has looked way beyond any other pacer in IPL 2024 currently. Overall, Bumrah is the Purple cap holder with 13 wickets to his name, but at a superb economy rate of 5.9. This is when teams are scoring 200+ consistently.

Supporting Jasprit Bumrah shall be Matheesha Pathirana from Chennai Super Kings and T Natarajan from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Other than Bumrah, these two have looked the best performers, and the stats prove the same. While Pathirana has 9 wickets from just 4 games, Natarajan has also been among wickets with 10 to his name from 5 matches. Other than these two, Harshal and Mohit have been impressive too, but at a higher economy rate.
