The first question for Sunrisers Hyderabad would be on their opening combination. With as many as 4 opening choices available, it would be interesting to see what they opt for. As per the management of SRH post Auction, Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma should be the opening combination for SRH; at least for the initial few matches.

These two should be followed by a strong middle-order trio of Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran; the batting-order might differ though with Pooran at 3 and Tripathi as a finisher. The finishing duties shall lie with Abdul Samad, Romario Shephard, and Washington Sundar.

Coming to bowling, SRH would be relying on their Indian contingent led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan. The third pacer could see a battle between Umran Malik and Kartik Tyagi. Rajasthan Royals’ first question would be how will they tackle their all-rounder situation. They only have 1 solid option in the form of Jimmy Neesham if you consider Ravichandran Ashwin as a pure bowler. Whereas the likes of Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal are more of part-time spin options.

In all likelihood, Riyan Parag should play as a finisher at 6 alongside Shimron Hetmyer. Ravichandran Ashwin could be the bowling all-rounder of the team at number 7. Jimmy Neesham could be a good bet, but to strengthen the bowling, Counter-Nile could come in at 8, who can also give decent runs down the order. 

The top-order for RR shall rely on Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Sanju Samson. The young guns, Devdutt Padikkal and Yashasvi Jaiswal are nicely sandwiched between experienced Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson, but their batting-order can change.

The bowling for RR look strong with Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Ravichandran Ashwin. A superb combination of spin and pace. However, the only thing they could rue is the lack of a sixth bowler. With this bowling line-up, they will have to rely on Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal for a few part-time overs.
