IPL 2020 – RR vs KXIP Match Preview:

It’s been a week in IPL 2020, and both, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab have won a game each with former having 0 loss, and the latter having 1 super-over defeat. These teams now meet at Sharjah, where the first match was an epic high-scoring encounter with RR and CSK.

Rajasthan Royals were without two of their star players, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes in the first match. Even then they were able to score 216 runs is quite commendable. They should get a boost this time with the presence of Jos Buttler at the top. With another high-scoring encounter expected, expect Jos Buttler and Co. to perform well again.

Kings XI Punjab, like Rajasthan Royals, are coming off a high-scoring encounter against RCB. The difference between both, however, is the bowling. Kings XI Punjab have a slightly better bowling line-up than Rajasthan Royals, which should make up for an interesting contest between the two.

IPL 2020 RR vs KXIP Predicted XIs:

Jos Buttler is back in the scenes after serving the Quarantine period. This means David Miller is likely to make way for him. Hence, we should see a change in batting-order with Smith, Samson, and Uthappa dropping a place lower.

IPL 2020 RR vs KXIP – Rajasthan Royals Predicted 11:

Jos Buttler (WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Steve Smith (C), Sanju Samson, Robin Uthappa, Riyan Parag, Tom Curran, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, and Jaydev Unadkat.

Kings XI Punjab are most-likely to play the same XI that played against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. That means Pooran, who has had a poor run so far should continue in the playing XI for the time being.

IPL 2020 RR vs KXIP – Kings XI Punjab Predicted 11:

KL Rahul (C&WK), Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Nicholas Pooran, Glenn Maxwell, Sarfaraz Khan, James Neesham, Ravi Bishnoi, Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, and Sheldon Cottrell.

Key Player Selection:

Batsmen: Jos Buttler, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Nicholas Pooran

Rajasthan Royals receive a big boost in the form of their most valuable player, Jos Buttler. Jos is in tremendous form currently, and what better than a batting-friendly pitch of Sharjah to start his IPL 2020 journey. Expect fireworks from him if he there on the pitch for at least 4-5 overs.

KL Rahul is coming off a fabulous century on a slightly less batting-friendly of Dubai. Imagine the scenes when he takes stride on a pitch that is a pelter for batting. If he sticks for a couple of overs on the pitch, he is expected to give you a big score.

On a batting-friendly pitch of Sharjah, Yashasvi Jaiswal fell very early. He has all the talent in the world to become the star, and he would want to make amends by being more cautious this time with his approach. So, expect him to come out good, and give you valuable points.

For all the talks about Nicholas Pooran, being the game-changer, Pooran has had a rather dull outing so far in IPL 2020. Not once in two innings, he has looked comfortable. But, he is a quality player, and with good presence on the field, he would be back to his best.

All-rounders: Glenn Maxwell

Just like Pooran, KXIP are heavily dependant on Glenn Maxwell for the middle-order. Till now, both the opener have had 1 amazing performance each, but not always we can expect them to come out good. Moreover, this pitch should help Maxwell to calm his initial nerves, and get back to form.

Bowlers: Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, and Ravi Bishnoi

Jofra Archer is one of the few bowlers who should by default be in your team no matter where they are playing. He is the trump-card for RR, and luckily Steve Smith knows perfectly on how to use him. Expect him to take min 1-2 wickets in the match apart from the valuable batting points if he does.

Shreyas Gopal looked good in first match bowling in right areas. With good experience of this ground, Gopal may exactly know where to bowl, and be more effective. Moreover, given the number of right-handers in KXIP squad, expect Gopal to do well.

Ravi Bishnoi has been excellent so far in IPL 2020. He has bowled with all the confidence to the likes of Finch, Abd, Pant, etc. Even after getting hammered for a few, the fighting spirit in him has made sure he doesn’t lose his confidence, and still give 💯.

Captain & Vice-Captain Pick: Jos Buttler and Glenn Maxwell
