MI and CSK to kick-start on September 19th as we look at the official new schedule for phase 2 of IPL 2021 in UAE.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier announced that the remainder of IPL 2021 was going to conduct in UAE from September 19 to October 15, 2021. In continuation, the evening of Sunday, July 25 saw BCCI announce the official schedule of the tournament.
IPL 2021’s Phase 2 of the tournament would begin on September 19 with the El-Clasico clash between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. The final shall be played on Friday, October 15 in Dubai. Phase 2 shall run for a total of 24 days, and a total of 31 matches would be conducted during this period. There would be a total of 7 double-headers with three, weekday double-headers and four, weekend double-headers.
Coming to the venues, the matches would be played at the three designated venues. The venues include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Overall, Dubai shall see a total of 13 matches including the final on October 15. Sharjah shall see a total of 10 matches including 2 knock-out matches. Whereas Abu Dhabi shall see a total of 8 matches, and none of the knock-out matches.

So, we are just 2 months away from witnessing phase 2 of the hottest T20 tournament in the world. Just like IPL 2020, which saw the entire tournament being conducted in UAE, no teams would have home advantage as all teams will be playing on neutral venues.
