IPL 2022: Match 46 SRH vs CSK Best Predicted Playing 11 for both Teams

IPL 2022 Match 46 SRH vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings face a must-win match as we look at the predicted playing 11 of both the teams.

It’s match 46 of TATA IPL 2022, and we have two contrasting opponents taking on each other. On one hand, we have the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have done pretty well in the tournament so far with 5 wins from 8 games. On the other hand, we have Chennai Super Kings, who have 6 losses from 8 games.

Both the teams are coming off a loss, and would be definitely looking for a win for their own reasons. While Sunrisers Hyderabad would be looking for a win as the competition at the top is damn competitive. A loss from here would mean SRH would need to win at least 4 from their remaining 5 matches.

Whereas for Chennai Super Kings, it’s a must-win game. If they lose this match, they can at max get to 14 points, and their IPL 2022 Playoffs qualification would then depend on other teams. They can still make it, but the probability of that happening is very minimal.

So, with both the teams coming off a loss, will they make any changes in their playing 11? Well, let’s find out in the ideal predicted playing 11 for Match 46 SRH vs CSK of IPL 2022. Before that, let’s look at the key match details for your reference.

IPL 2022 SRH vs CSK: Predicted Playing XIs for Both Teams

Sunrisers Hyderabad may have lost the previous match against Gujarat Titans, but they weren’t bad as a team. There were plenty of positives for them from the match right from Abhishek Sharma’s mature knock to Shashank’s blitzkrieg cameo to Umran Malik’s outstanding 5-fer.

With such performances coming from all uncapped players, Kane Williamson and his men may go unchanged in their match against CSK. Even Marco Jansen, who went for more than 60 runs in his 4 overs, and was the prime reason for SRH’s loss should continue to play.

From the performance standpoint, SRH would be hoping for a better batting display from their skipper, Kane Williamson. Kane has had a poor outing so far in IPL 2022 having managed just 148 runs from 8 innings with the highest being 57.  Surely captain can’t rely on the uncapped to do the job always. Hence, he needs to get back in the groove.

IPL 2022 SRH vs CSK: Predicted Playing 11 for Sunrisers Hyderabad

Kane Williamson (C), Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar & T Natarajan

Chennai Super Kings usually go unchanged in their playing 11, but this time they would look to make some amendments. The experiment of Mitchell Santner hasn’t quite worked for them in the batting department. Santner may be a brilliant bowler, but the need of the hour for CSK is improving their batting, or just playing Santner at 9.

Instead of Santner, CSK should fall back to their tried and tested strategy of playing Moeen Ali at the top. His form may not have been so good this year, but he is a brilliant hitter of the ball. By spending some time in the middle, he can come back to his usual best. Apart from this, CSK can think of replacing Dwaine Pretorius with Matheesha Pathirana, but that change looks unlikely; at least for now.

Similar to Kane Williamson, Ravindra Jadeja has been quite poor as a batter this IPL. He only has 112 runs to his name from 8 innings at an average of 22.4 and a poor strike rate of 121.7. Not once in these 8 innings has he crossed 30. Captaincy pressure is certainly showing on Jadeja as he far better player than what stats show. But with MS Dhoni has now taken over the captaincy, and that should help Jadeja get back to his original best.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (C&WK), Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius, Maheesh Theekshana & Mukesh Choudhary
