IPL 2026 RCB vs CSK Match 11 Each Team Best Playing XI

With Kohli and Ruturaj clash setup, explore the RCB vs CSK match 11 both teams best playing XI for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

Two losses in two matches, and CSK’s IPL 2026 campaign has been off to a horrible start. While CSK did miss a few key players, it pains to see the decision-making and the thought process so far in the tournament. One best examples is that of Prashant Veer. The team invested 14 Cr in this youngster, but not only do they ask him to bat at 7, where he is underutilised, but also don’t give him even a single over. So, if you don’t trust your players even for 1 over, why pay so much?

With two losses in two games, CSK now run into the IPL 2025 defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru. If there is one team CSK wouldn’t have wanted to play at this moment, it is the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB are a beast at home, and be it batting first or chasing, RCB can create shock waves for their opposition. And given how poor the CSK bowling lineup is, the high-power batting lineup of RCB may just be too much for them.

RCB, meanwhile, are coming off a solid win. The batting looked solid, with useful contributions from Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and Rajat Patidar. Whereas the bowling, even in the absence of Josh Hazlewood, looked good, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jacob Duffy leading the pack. With the next match once again at Chinnaswamy, the bowling will once again be in focus, as a high-scoring contest will be on the cards.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru team surprised a few with their performance in the first match. Devdutt Padikkal played above Venkatesh Iyer, and Abhinandan Singh played above Mangesh Yadav. While Padikkal scored a solid fifty, Abhinandan Singh didn’t have the outing he was expecting. Given that RCB got off to a winning start, expect them to continue with the same playing 11 for the second match vs CSK.

In terms of what to watch out for in the RCB camp, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli once again, who just loves playing at Chinnaswamy and vs CSK. So, expect another solid, impactful knock from Kohli. In addition, RCB would want Salt to have some runs under his belt, and Krunal and Abhinandan to have a better supporting role in the bowling department. Meanwhile, if at all they do, left-arm pacer Mangesh Yadav may replace Abhinandan Singh for match 2.

The main question for the Chennai Super Kings shall be whether Dewald Brevis is fit and available for the all-important RCB clash. CSK can’t afford another loss, as that would add huge pressure on the team. So, if Dewald Brevis is fit, which he looks like he will be, expect Brevis to come in straight away in the team for an extra bowler. This will make CSK’s batting stronger, and will also lead to the utilisation of Prashant Veer and Shivam Dube as the 6th bowlers in the team.

In terms of batting order, expect CSK to continue with the same top 3, but at number 4, we should see Dewald Brevis to guide the ship as the consolidator or attacking batter. Post this, Dube, Sarfaraz, and Kartik can play as a floater depending on the situation. Whereas Prashant Veer should be utilised at number 8, and should be used more in the bowling department. Also, given the lack of All-rounders, CSK should also utilise Dube and Veer more in the bowling.
