IPL 2024 Foreign Players Ranking for All 10 Teams
Rashid Khan, the star foreign player as we look at the final IPL 2024 overseas players ranking for all 10 teams.
10 Teams, 80 Overseas players! That’s what we are going to witness in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, the IPL 2024. While the Indians dominate the Indian Premier League, there’s no denying that 40-50 of those 80 names will form the majority share of how successful the tournament is going to be.
Unlike IPL 2023, where we didn’t see a complete quota of 80 overseas players between the 10 teams, the IPL 2024 will see each team carrying 8 overseas players with them. The Auction also saw teams spending a fortune on overseas players, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, making them the two most expensive players in the history of the IPL.
So, how about we evaluate the overseas players for each team cumulatively, and find out the ranking and rating of the overseas players of each team for IPL 2024? Again, to find out the ranking, each player is rated relatively against the benchmark player of each category, and each player is categorized as Opener, Middle-order batter, Finisher, All-rounder, Spinner, and Pacer.
#10: Mumbai Indians – 8.135
Don’t be shocked straight up as we have the mighty Mumbai Indians occupying the number 10 position with a foreign players rating of 8.135. MI are actually pretty strong when it comes to their Indian players, but their overseas players don’t have the IPL experience to be different from the competition. While there is no doubt about the quality, IPL experience gives their competition a higher rating.

Number 9 will again not make the fans happy as we have the RCB team with a foreign players rating of 8.375. RCB does have four solid overseas players in the form of Faf, Maxwell, Topley, and Green. But it is the other 4 overseas players that decrease their rating considerably. However, if we just consider their top 4 overseas players, they get a rating of 9.19. which is pretty good.

#8: Kolkata Knight Riders – 8.490

The addition of Starc does make KKR strong on the overseas contingent, but the likes of Gus Atkinson, Sherfane Rutherford, and even Roy and Gurbaz haven’t had the impact in IPL; thus separating them from the likes of Warner, Conway, or others.
