IPL 2024: All 10 Teams Perfect Predicted Released Players List

A total of 76 players in focus as we look at the best predicted released players list for all 10 teams ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction. 

Amidst all the excitement surrounding World Cup 2023, there are a bunch of Analysts and Team Management who are busy finalizing the players for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, the IPL 2024. It’s only a week before the deadline for announcing their retained and released players list ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction.

Similar to 2023, the IPL 2024 Auction will see a Mini Auction. So, the teams will try to retain as many players as possible. However, as has always been the case, we should see teams letting go of the players who have had a disappointing IPL, and were unable to replicate their form in the Domestic or International circuit.

In our previous article, we had a look at the best retained players for all teams for IPL 2024. But in this article, we shall look at the best predicted released players list that Teams could say bye-bye to. Just so you know, the budget for teams for IPL 2024 Auction shall be INR 100 Cr, which is 5 Cr more than the last year’s Auction. 

#1: Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings are one team that rarely does changes to their side even after having a bad season. However, being defending champions, CSK should retain as many as 24 players in their side. The unfortunate one who could miss out is Ambati Rayudu, who is already retired. The overseas pacers Kyle Jamieson and Sisanda Magala could be out as well due to lack of potential.

#2: Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals are already brimming with good news given that Rishabh Pant will lead the side in IPL 2024. The ones DC are likely to release due to bad form are Lungi Ngidi, Manish Pandey, Mustafizur Rahman, and Rovman Powell. Whereas the ones that DC could release due to lack of T20 potential are Abhishek Porel, Pravin Dubey, and Priyam Garg.

#3: Gujarat Titans

Coming to IPL 2024’s Runners-up, there shouldn’t be a lot of changes in the side except for the overseas contingent. It looks unlikely GT will retain Dasun Shanaka, Matthew Wade, and Odean Smith, and instead, they may look for new players in the Auction. Other than these three, GT may also release the non-potential players Pradeep Sangwan and Urvil Patel.

#4: Kolkata Knight Riders

Coming to the KKR side, there could be a lot of changes in the side. There have been a lot of non-performers on the KKR side. From those, David Wiese, Lockie Ferguson, Mandeep Singh, Tim Southee, and N Jagadeesan may get released. Other than these five, Litton Das and Shakib could get released for not valuing IPL. Whereas Aarya Desai and Kulwant Khejroliya could get released for lack of potential.

#5: Lucknow Super Giants

Coming to the Lucknow side, expect LSG to release overseas players Daniel Sams and Romario Shephard (Traded to Mumbai Indians). Avesh Khan could be a touch-and-go, but due to his high price, may get released. Whereas Arpit Guleria, Amit Mishra, Karun Nair, Manan Vohra, Mayank Yadav, Swapnil Singh, and Suryansh Shedge could get released due to lack of potential.

#6: Mumbai Indians 

Coming to the Mumbai Indians side, the major decisions will be around releasing the redundant overseas pacers. There are almost five names that MI will release. Those are Chris Jordan, Duan Jansen, Jason Behrendorff, Jyhe Richardson, and Riley Meredith. Other than these five, the ones MI will release are Ramandeep Singh and Sandeep Warrier.

#7: Punjab Kings

For Punjab Kings, the overseas players Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Matthew Short didn’t do well last time, so are likely to get axed. Whereas from the Indian players, Baltej Singh, Gurnoor Brar, Mohit Rathee, Shivam Singh, and Vidhwath Kaperappa are likely to get released.

#8: Rajasthan Royals

For Rajasthan Royals, a lot of Indian players will be under the scanner. Players that could face the axe are Abdul Basith, Akash Vashist, KC Kariappa, KM Asif, Kunal Rathore, and Sandeep Sharma. Whereas from the overseas players only Jason Holder could be released.

#9: Royal Challengers Bangalore

Coming to the RCB side, they are the ones that could release the maximum number of players. From the overseas players, David Willey, Reece Topley, Wayne Parnell, and Will Jacks could be released. Whereas from the Indian players Avinash Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Himanshu Singh, Karn Sharma, Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Bhandage, Rajan Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, and Sonu Yadav could be released. However, one name that looks debatable is Dinesh Karthik, but looks like he could be under the scanner.

Finally, talking about the SRH side, there aren’t a lot of player movements expected from the SRH camp. Overall, Harry Brook can be the biggest name that SRH may release. Purely for price/ performance issue. Whereas Akeal Hosein, Nitish Reddy, Mayank Dagar, Samarth Vyas, Sanvir Singh, and Vivrant Sharma may be the other names to face the heat.
