Shakib Al Hasan, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mitchell Starc in the race for the Most Valuable Player for World Cup 2019.

Officially, Kane Williamson was named as the player of the series for World Cup 2019.

I feel, It is slightly debatable because he was measured on an intangible aspect of Captaincy, which he was no doubt absolutely brilliant at. He also leads the World Cup 2019 Team of the Tournament for most of the Cricketing guru.

But, is Kane actually the Most Valuable Player of World Cup 2019?, or Shakib Al Hasan, Jasprit Bumrah, or Mitchell Starc dethrone him to become the MVP of World Cup 2019?.

Let’s find out in our Most Valuable Player report card for World Cup 2019.

METHODOLOGY:

According to us, the most valuable player is someone who has excelled in his role perfectly.

So, a batsman has to maximize his value in batting and fielding departments. A bowler has to maximize his value in bowling and fielding departments. While an all-rounder has to maximize his value in all the three departments.

To calculate the Most Valuable Player points, we have considered the overall aspect of the game such as runs scored, wickets taken, acceleration bonus, economy rate bonus, consistency, number of catches taken, number of stumpings done, number of fours & sixes hit, and the number of match-winning performances.

To leave out the biases and perception, we have kept things simple by comparing the overall MVP Points to calculate the Most Valuable Players of World Cup 2019.
