AB de Villiers breaks silence; responds to his World Cup 2019 Criticism
AB de Villiers has finally broken the silence on the criticism he received during World Cup 2019.
In the midst of World Cup 2019, there were a lot of speculations that AB de Villiers had contacted the South African team management a few days before the selection, expressing his intention to be a part of the Proteas squad.
The news had not gone well with the supporters and fans around the world, who labeled the act as ‘selfish’. So, after South Africa’s disappointing exit from World Cup 2018, AB de Villiers finally broke the silence on the criticism he received.
Ab de Villiers had retired from International Cricket in May 2019. ABD had only played in selective T20 tournaments around the World including the Indian Premier League.
He said he retired from International Cricket because he wanted to spend more time with his family. He also said, Money was not his priority, and he had rejected many lucrative offers from around the world.
A few days before the beginning of the official tournament, AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis had a close conversation where he said, ‘if required, I am available for the selection’.
Moreover, he stressed on the point of not forcing his way into the team, rather expressing his desire to play if the team needs him.

We just hope he keeps playing as long as possible, and keeps entertaining us. Meanwhile, South Africa had a shocking World Cup 2019 campaign where they finished at seventh position with 7 points in 9 games.
Faf du Plessis has been their best player, who scored 387 runs from 8 innings at an average of 64.5.
