India vs SA 2019: Second Test Match Player Report Card

India vs SA 2019: Virat Kohli, the leader of the pack as we calculate the player performance report card for the second Test Match.

After a disappointing show in the second innings of the first Test match, South Africa’s performance in the second Test match looked even more lacklustre. It turned out to be a rather easy affair for the Hosts as they defeated South Africa by an innings and 137 runs.

Reviewing the performance of the players, the second Test match was all about ‘King Kohli’, and his dominance in the longest format of the game.  After a lull of century-less knocks, Virat Kohli was back to his prime best as he smashed his seventh double-hundred of his career.

Mayank Agarwal with a superb century, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, and Cheteshwar Pujara with brilliant half-centuries supported Virat Kohli brilliantly. While Ashwin, Umesh, and Jadeja picked up wickets at crucial encounters.

For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the players, who picked up 3 key wickets, but lacked support from all the bowlers at the other end. While except for South Africa’s lower-order, almost all batsmen had a rather off Test match with no intention of fighting.

Anyway, let’s have a look at what ratings do the players get in our India vs SA 2019 Second Test Report Card.

#7: Vernon Philander
